We have implemented a qualified document sealing solution at Merserwis – one of the largest testing and calibration laboratories in Poland. Thanks to the qualified electronic seal, Merserwis effectively secures thousands of calibration certificates against forgery and unauthorized modifications, giving clients certainty about the authenticity of documents.

The problem of document forgery – a real threat to the market

One of the key documents issued by the accredited Merserwis laboratory are calibration certificates for control and measuring instruments. The laboratory issues up to 1,000 of them monthly, and over 10,000 annually. As the company emphasizes, before the implementation of the e-seal there had been cases of certificates being forged or modified. The forgeries stemmed from various sources – from attempts to avoid calibration costs, through bypassing mandatory equipment check deadlines, to selling devices with allegedly valid certificates.

Such practices posed a threat not only to the laboratory’s reputation but, above all, to the safety of end users. Therefore, Merserwis decided to implement the qualified electronic seal SIGNIUS, which unequivocally confirms the authenticity and integrity of issued documents.

Electronic seal – a guarantee of certificate authenticity

The qualified electronic seal SIGNIUS implemented at Merserwis functions as the digital equivalent of the company’s seal and protects calibration certificates from any alterations after issuance, ensuring clients that the document comes directly from the laboratory.

Importantly, at the accredited Merserwis laboratory, digital versions of the certificates are considered the originals. That is why their protection is a priority.

– As a company with over 35 years of experience, we are committed to the full credibility of our documents. Our clients must have absolute certainty that every certificate issued by our laboratory is authentic and indisputable. – emphasizes Damian Piwowar, Managing Director of Merserwis.

Continuation of cooperation with SIGNIUS – e-signatures in everyday practice

The implementation of the electronic seal is a natural extension of Merserwis’ earlier digitization efforts. Since August 2025, all calibration certificates issued by the laboratory have been secured with a qualified electronic signature provided on the SIGNIUS platform. This ensures both authenticity and protection against changes, while also speeding up the circulation of documents within the company.

Merserwis also plans to expand the use of SIGNIUS electronic signatures to other departments – administration, accounting, and service – which will further automate processes and enhance the credibility of documentation.

SIGNIUS – an expert in e-signatures and e-seals

Merserwis’ implementation of SIGNIUS solutions demonstrates how qualified electronic signatures and seals address real business needs. They eliminate the risk of forgery, accelerate document workflows, and strengthen customer trust.

– By applying the electronic seal, Merserwis has not only increased the security of its calibration certificates but also demonstrated that modern digital tools are today an essential part of companies that prioritize quality, transparency, and reliability. – highlights Bartosz Witkowski, CEO of SIGNIUS S.A.
